While the list of possibilities is endless, here is exactly what we use it for every day, followed by the exciting features we have yet to explore.
What We Actually Use Gemini For
1. Designing Our Website
Keeping futurechannelhq.com clean and modern is a priority, but web development can be a headache. Whenever we get stuck in complex WordPress settings, need to tweak a layout, or want to write a quick custom script, we share our screen with Gemini. It’s like having an expert friend looking over our shoulder, guiding us exactly where to click.
2. Writing Our Blogs
When it’s time to actually write our articles, we switch over to canvas. This side-by-side interactive workspace is our go-to for drafting, adjusting layout, and ensuring there are absolutely zero typos before we hit publish.
3. Homework and Language Learning
My partner moved here from another country and is currently taking Dutch lessons. She uses Gemini as an interactive language tutor. Instead of using it to “cheat” on her homework (haha!), she uses it to explain complex grammar rules and generate practice exercises.
4. Planning & Editing Videos and Photos
Creating video content for the Future Channel community takes a lot of prep. We use Gemini to map out our entire video production workflow:
• The Script & Shot List: We use Gemini to brainstorm engaging video hooks, plan exact camera angles, and suggest b-roll scenes.
• Photo Touch-ups: For graphics, Google’s high-quality image tools are the best we’ve experienced for quick touch-ups, especially for keeping our faces looking consistent across different edits.
5. The Google Ecosystem
Because Gemini is integrated directly into the Google apps we already use, it acts as the central brain of our daily routine, and comes with some huge package perks:
• Google Home: It helps us manage our smart home, making sense of security alerts and camera activity from our video doorbell.
• YouTube: It helps us quickly summarize videos, research trends, and optimize our channel.
• Gmail & Google Photos: It summarizes long email threads in a flash and lets us search through thousands of family photos using simple questions (like, “show me that photo with the sunset last summer”).

6. (Deep) Research
We used Gemini to deeply research healthy food options and design a customized supplement and vitamin schedule. Gemini then turned that raw research into a beautifully structured, clean document that we printed out and stuck on our fridge. It also helped me search which global ETF I wanted to invest in and which banks were the cheapest and best options for me. (A blog will be written about these two topics soon!)
If you have a lot of long documents, you can upload them in NotebookLM to get summaries or ask questions about them. Very convenient for large sets of data!
